DLI 8: Public-private partnership in education:
Strengthening the design and implementation of an accountability-based PPP initiative to cost-effectively
deliver quality schooling to unserved rural communities. |
(i) Sindh has financed the PPRS Program through its recurrent budget; |
Sindh has financed the PPRS program through its recurrent budget, the allocation is 800 million for this financial year. |
Cash plan has been submitted to finance department (approved by World Bank).1st Quarter Release is pending |
(ii) 100% of the schools participating in the PPRS Program are supported in compliance with partnership contracts and under quality assurance and accountability systems, all acceptable to the Association; and |
All new PPRS schools under phase IV and its existing schools under phase I, II and III have been entered in agreed partnership contracts for the academic year 2014-2015. And first bi-annual assessment of 611 PPRS Schools for this session would be conducted in last week of September 2014. Moreover, all other arrangements are ready to be executed. |

(iii) SEF has undertaken an additional round of school entries into the PPRS Program in FY2014/15, in accordance with qualifying criteria and screening procedures, acceptable to the Association. |
Based on meeting held with World Bank officials on 26th August 2014 SEF is going to use data of phase IV to have additional round of entries. An approval is being secured on this activity from World Bank. |
