DLI 7: School infrastructure
development: Promoting
improved rules, procedures, and practices in school
rehabilitation and school upgradation to improve
school infrastructure quality and yield safe, healthy schools. |
(i) Sindh has provided to districts annual grants for FY2014/15 TOP, in accordance performance and needs based criteria and ratios, acceptable to the Association; |

(ii) Sindh has selected 100% of the schools to be rehabilitated/upgraded under FY2014/15 TOP, in accordance with – acceptable to the Association –qualification criteria and screening procedures applied by a third party; |
Survey progress, 90% of the field verification work is completed and the remaining will be completed by August 2014 |

iii) a third party has validated that at least 70% of qualifying schools under FY2012/13 and FY2013/14 TOP have been fully constructed in accordance with construction timelines and quality standards and school design specifications, acceptable to the Association, and delivered for use to the districts; and |
91% of the schools (599 schools selected for 2013/14 and third party reported 541 schools have been fully constructed) reported by M/s UMA by March, 2014. |

(iv) Sindh has implemented pilot programs for environmental enhancements of existing schools, in accordance with a plan, acceptable to Association. |
The experts are engaged through consultancy firm to perform the research work upon different environmental aspects, Renewable Energy Report is finalized, Water Quality testing’s and Pilot design development reports is in final stage, Standard School designs are in progress and workshops on Health & Hygiene and Disaster Mgt. are being conducted. The related assignment of ESFM will suppose to be completed by October 2014 |
