DLI 10: Teacher Management: Strengthened merit- and needs-based teacher recruitment arrangements, procedures, and practices; teacher contracts with performance terms and conditions; induction training, job guidelines, teaching materials and tools; and a tailored annual performance evaluation process |
(i) Sindh has carried out any recruitment of any type of teachers for government schools only for needs-based vacancies and on a merit-based selection, in accordance with rules, acceptable to the Association; |

(ii) Sindh has offered recruited teachers contracts with performance terms and conditions, acceptable to the Association; and |
1. Contract signed with all appointed teachers. |

(iii) Sindh has provided to all contracted teacher induction training, job guidelines, and management resources and assessed their performance annually using performance evaluation tools and procedures, all acceptable to the Association. |
(1) Induction training of 550 newly recruited HSTs has been provided along with job guidelines and management resources. (2)Job Guidelines developed and is being provided to newly recruited JSTs and PSTs. (3)Manuals for 4 weeks induction training of JSTs and PSTs is in review process with IQRA University and likely to be finalized till August 2014.(4) A tool of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for teacher appraisal, based on National Professional Standard of Teachers and provided job guidelines, piloted and in process of finalization. (5) A mobile app 'Point of Interest (POI)' for real time data collection for KPI is being piloted with support of Plan International. Briefing may be given on that till end of August, 2014. (6) Induction training of JST be started in last week of September |
